Bellgrove Lenders, a small-business funding broker in Appleton, Wisconsin, has sector pages for construction, restaurants and medical and dental practices, the trades its lending partners fund, plus notes on retail inventory. Each uses Outagamie County Census figures. Each credit decision, rate and term belongs to a lending partner.
Construction
Outagamie County had 632 construction employers in 2023, 59.0 percent with fewer than five employees, plus 1,117 construction businesses with no paid employees in 2024 (U.S. Census Bureau, County Business Patterns 2023; U.S. Census Bureau, Nonemployer Statistics 2024). Crews pay for labor and materials well before progress payments arrive. Contractor financing covers draws, retainage and machines.
Restaurants and food service
The county counted 469 food service and drinking place employers in 2023, 354 of them restaurants and other eating places (U.S. Census Bureau, County Business Patterns 2023). Only about a quarter had fewer than five employees: kitchens carry real payrolls. Restaurant financing covers equipment, remodels and cash gaps.
Medical and dental practices
Ambulatory health care, the Census group that includes physician and dental offices, had 383 employers in the county in 2023, including 139 physician offices and 67 dental offices (U.S. Census Bureau, County Business Patterns 2023). Practice financing covers clinical equipment, build-outs and the wait for insurance payments.
Retail and wholesale
Retail trade had more employer establishments than any other sector in Outagamie County in 2023, 683, and wholesale trade had 296 (U.S. Census Bureau, County Business Patterns 2023). Both buy stock before they sell it, which is what inventory financing is for, and a credit line can cover restocking in varying amounts.
Sectors outside these four are welcome to call. Agriculture and trucking requests are not handled. For the county's full sector table, see the Appleton, WI page.
